After a good journey North
on a Friday night we arrived at the rally field to see people out flying their
kites already.
As the Kite Festival was not on until the Sunday we had Saturday free to explore
the area, on the showground that morning was the monthly farmers market and
several of us took the opportunity to stock up on sausages, burgers, pork pies
and plants for our gardens. With the
coast not being far away several of us decided to visit Bridlington so that we
could have a fish and chip lunch.
Sunday saw ideal weather conditions for the kites, entry into the show was
included in the rally fee so we could go in as and when we wanted.
Most of us visited the car
boot in the morning, came back to our caravans
for coffee and to leave our bargains and
then headed into the show. The stunt
kites were amazing, the accident/rescue simulation interesting to watch and the
trade and craft stands well worth a visit.
Later that afternoon we were
treated to a flypast by a Dakota.
Flag had to be one of the
quickest and wettest I have ever experienced but thanks to the marshals for all
their hard work (Ian you are not allowed to set a quiz again!!).
Monday the kite festival was on again with yet another car boot to visit and a
last look around before getting ready for home.
