Committee Nominations 2010

Each of the 70 Caravan Club Centres elects a Committee at its AGM each year. The AGM and the structure of the Committee positions are laid down in statute by the Caravan Club.

Becoming a Committee member is a great way to put something back into our hobby. A Committee meeting is held once a month on a Wednesday evening, with the Committee tasked with arranging key rallies such as Bonfire, Christmas Party, and Sports, as well as managing centre activities and ensuring adherence to the rules for the safety and enjoyment of the membership.

Any full member of the Centre can be elected to the Committee. In order to be considered for any Committee post a completed nomination form needs to be submitted. This form can be downloaded or acquired from the Honorary Secretary. The form requires a Proposer and Seconder; again both of these individuals must be full members and not related to the nominee.

Any full member can be nominated to ANY of the Committee posts. The table at the bottom of this page contains the names of nominations currently received. If the post you would like to be considered for has a name already against that does NOT prevent you from putting in a nomination.

In the event that the Chair, Vice Chair, or any of the Honorary Positions receive more that one nominee, a secret ballot will be held at the AGM, and the membership will elect their chosen individual. The same goes for the Committee positions, if more than five individuals are nominated a ballot will take place to select the five Committee posts.

The above also applies to the Teenage Committee; however a parental consent form is also required with each nomination, and all nominees must be over 12 on the closing date of nominations. Teenage Nomination forms can be obtained from the teenage Secretary, Laura Duxbury.

Nominations for both the Senior and Teenage Committee need to be lodged with the Honorary Secretary before the deadline of 4pm on Saturday 18^th September 2010 for Teenage Nominations and 10am on Sunday 19^th September 2010 for the Senior Committee. No nominations can be accepted after these stated times

The positions for the Senior Committee are:

Chair	Head of the Centre and one of the individuals responsible in law for the running of the Centre
Vice Chair	Supports the Chair and stands in when the Chair is not available, and has traditionally been responsible for the centres Statistics
Honorary Treasurer	Responsible for the management of the Centres funds, and provides balance sheets and financial forecasts for the Committee meetings and the membership at the AGM. Also an individual legally responsible for the centres operations
Honorary Secretary	Looks after the membership and all correspondence into and out of the Centre. This role also acts as a conduit to the Caravan Club HQ via an Executive Secretary. An individual legally responsible for the centres operations
Honorary Rally Secretary	An intensive role with the responsibility for putting together the rally program
Honorary Social Secretary	Tasked with the arrangement of key Centre social events such and the Children’s Christmas Party, Dinner Dance, and the AGM social amongst others
Committee Positions	In the current year, there are 5 Committee positions, however the Committee are proposing to increase this to 6 for 2010. The proposed structure will take into accout the role of Web Master and Fund Raising during the upcoming year. Sports Officer Motor Sports Officer Assistant Rally Secretary Communications Officer (Incl RAM and Web) Quartermaster Fund Raising & Marketing Officer
